You deserve the right to move your body free of judgement and in ways that feel right for YOU.
And that is my mission here with Lighthouse Fitness!
Through trauma-informed personal training, I’m committed to honoring your right to move on your own terms and helping you discover what movements feel right for YOU!
You deserve to determine what “healthy” means for you and we will work together to help you feel safe, strong, and secure in your body one day, one step, and one rep at a time!
My Mission
-
Autonomy
Autonomy is at the core of everything that I do with my clients and my business. I will never assume that “trainer knows best” and will always honor your choices and preferences with every conversation, goal, and workout.
-
Safety
From practicing safe and informed movements in our sessions to regaining safety and stability within your body, safety guides every move that we make and rep that we take.
-
Authenticity
You deserve to show up just as you are and I encourage you to always be yourself as much as feels comfortable!
-
Compassion
In my opinion, the biggest key to finding success in your health isn’t perfection, it isn’t even consistency... it’s compassion! Your mind and body deserve love and respect and I will always encourage you to lead with this throughout every phase of your fitness journey.
SERVICES
I offer a wide range of services to fit your health and fitness needs! I believe to be truly “fit,” you have to focus not just on your body, but on your mind and emotions too!

Hey, I’m Austen!
Check out the info below for a little more about me and the story behind Lighthouse Fitness!
-
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved moving my body and have been curious about what it’s capable of doing. Whether it was through sports, hiking the beautiful Colorado mountains, or recreating my favorite Star Wars and Marvel action fight scenes with my friends, I was always moving.
After graduating high school, I realized that I could explore my body’s capabilities even further through working out and the movement space. And ultimately, these curiosities lead me to pursue a degree in Health and Exercise Science and I graduated with a B.S. from Colorado State University in 2017! Go Rams!
But like most folks I know, my relationship with movement has been a complicated one full of many ups and downs.
As I started to explore fitness more, I also started to become obsessed with how my body “should” look and what my body “should” and “shouldn’t do.” This led to a long history of body dysmorphia and punishing my body through movement. This nasty relationship with pain and movement grew even deeper as I started to internalize the harmful messages that come along with the popular fitness space.
I started to internalize false messages like…
The constant need to look a certain way or weigh a certain amount.
The pressure to fit into what society deemed as “healthy” and accepted.
And the idea that “my body was my billboard” and a reflection of my own capabilities and knowledge as a trainer and health professional.
I was stuck in a rut of feeling like my body wasn’t enough and that no matter how hard I worked or how much I sweated, I could never seem to punish my body into conforming to this unrealistic standard.
But in the height of the COVID pandemic, I realized that this unhealthy fitness approach just wasn’t right for me any longer. I started to wonder… what would it be like if I led with compassion and acceptance in my movement instead of judgment or restriction?
And from that very question, Lighthouse Fitness was born!
I began my path towards becoming a trauma-informed personal trainer and realized that fitness can and should be about so much more than the way you look or the way you move!
My Education
-
I got this certification through the amazing folks at Hope Ignited Training. This means that I am a trainer who recognizes that if you work with the body, you work with trauma. Therefore, my mission as a trainer is to help folks discover what they can do to feel safe, strong, and secure in their bodies through movement. Whether it's through traditional strength training moves, regulation and grounding techniques, or simply learning how to understand the deep connections between your mind and body, I’ve got you covered!
-
I dream of a world where mental and physical health walk hand and hand instead of apart. So to honor that dream, I am currently getting my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well! Go Rams!
-
This certification means that I have a deeper understanding of how the body works. If you’re coming back from surgery and you’re on the road to recovery or you simply want to know how to avoid injury or pain in the future, I’ve got you covered! This also means that I will help you learn more about flexibility, mobility, and all those other awesome things you can do before and after your workout to help you feel good for as long as possible!
-
I got this certification through the Personal Trainer Development Center (PTDC). It means that I’ve been taught a systematic business and coaching structure specifically designed to help make training people online simple and effective!

Rossiter is a form of myofascial release body work that uses active stretching movement to restore space and function in your connective tissues. Basically, it is a two-person form of stretching that helps you to reduce pain and move better in the long run! Rossiter Stretching is some pretty powerful stuff and I hope to keep expanding my education on this awesome form of body work in the future.
